Muy Diferente
Imagine Perez Prado going to the laundromat to wash his clothes and the static-electrified lint caught in the lint trap start a group. This may have been what happened in the mind of Atom™ (Uwe Schmidt) when he created Los Sampler's and their 1999 album Descargas. These tracks are alternate versions from the album released on 7" vinyl from UK label Hot Air in 2000.

If you're interested in VERY electronic latin music, nobody comes close to the inventiveness and musicality of Atom™. I recommend you hunt down and purchase these releases to start with, most on the Rather Interesting label:
Los Sampler's - Descargas
Midisport - 14 Footballers in Milkchocolate
SeƱor Coconut - El Gran Baile
Erik Satin - Light Music
Lisa Carbon - Trio de Janeiro
Atom™ feat. Tea Time - XXX

this post reminds me of this quote from Don Quixote, which i know by my heart and blood in the same way that the tree knows when the leaves must fall: " "he so immersed himself in those romances that he spent whole days and nights over his books; and thus with little sleeping and much reading his brains dried up to such a degree that he lost the use of his reason." Not to suggest that you have lost use of reason, but I cannot help but wonder about your immersion in the romance of these abstractions? Don't you know that true latin music, the music of MY people, is made by true visonaries like Carlos "el rey de guittarrro" Santana and Hector "la voce muy muy bueno" Lavoe, but not by that unfunny Heretic, Carlos Mencia.
I referenced Perez Prado because I can hear his sound in many of Atom's songs. Prado is by no means the only latin artist. But unfortunately for him he had to go to the laundromat to entertain my electronic-pocket-lint metaphor. This particular post is about new electronic latin music and my album suggestions refer to that style. But I totally agree that Carlos Mencia is unfunny, at best.
